Disaster Preparedness:
The Tsunami Observer Program is funded by NOAA and sponsored by Hawai’i State Civil Defense. The purpose is to record all significant data associated with a tsunami event.
The state of Hawai’i is the first “TsunamiReady” state. This program helps community leaders and emergency managers with their local tsunami operations.
The Pacific Tsunami Museum (PTM) has worked with other organizations to produce publications that address the important issues of disaster preparedness and response.
